HAMDEN, Conn. – An 80-meter turnover and run by junior Morgan Cunningham highlighted Brown Women's Rugby opening day at Quinnipiac Rugby Field Saturday. Cunningham offloaded to sophomore Nikki Lynch in the second half in Brown's (0-1) 47-14 loss to Quinnipiac (1-0) on Saturday evening.

The Bobcats led 25-0 at the half and extended their lead in the opening minutes of the second, but the resilient Bears cut their deficit with a try off a scrum by junior Noelle Lewis. Freshman Julia Murray followed with a successful conversion.
Murray registered four points on conversions, and Lewis and Lynch each picked up a try.
"We saw really great moments from the squad today and we've installed a lot of new things on attack and defense," said Kathleen Flores Women's Rugby Head Coach Rosalind Chou. "The moments we were able to execute, we saw points come from that. We are excited to get back to work and to keep improving each day."
