Women's Rugby Heads to Princeton for NIRA Match on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's rugby team travels to the Garden State to square off against NIRA Division I newcomer and Ivy League foe Princeton (0-2) on Saturday.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend matchup against Princeton with a 1-0-1 record in 2022. The Bears opened the season with a road loss at Quinnipiac before playing to a 24-24 tie against Sacred Heart last weekend at Marvel Field.
- Noelle Lewis leads the Bears with two tries through two games. The junior has recorded one try in each of Brown's first two games.
- After Lewis, four Bears have reached the try zone for five points: Akilah Cathey, Nikki Lynch, Kate Molloy, and Mahdia Parker. Freshman Julia Murray has four conversions for eight points.
- Princeton enters Saturday with a 0-2 record after falling to Sacred Heart (53-21) and Army (87-0) to open the season.
- Amelia Clarke, Erica De San Jorge, and Sophia Villacorta recorded tries in Princeton's first-ever varsity match against the Pioneers.
- In last weekend's home opener for the Tigers, the Army West Point Cadets, last year's National Runner-Up, took the lopsided victory.
- Saturday marks the first meeting between the Bears and Tigers in series history.
- The two teams met last Spring during at the Ivy 7s Championships with the Tigers taking the victory.
