Women's fencing's Casey Chan named CoSIDA Academic All-American Third Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown fencer Casey Chan earned CoSIDAÂ Academic All-American Third Team honors for the At-Large Team after success in both competition and the classroom.
Chan was one of 13 student-athletes to earn a spot on the Third Team that featured student athletes from across the United States.Â
The junior fencer is concentrating in Chemistry and reached the NCAA Championships for the second time in her career. After a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, Chan took 12th at the NCAA Championships, earning All-American honors. Chan defeated the eventual women's individual champion in the sabre and a third-place finisher during pool play.Â
