
Casey Chan named CoSIDA Academic All-District

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown fencer Casey Chan has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team for District 1 after a strong year in the classroom and in competition.
Chan was one of 10 athletes named to the All-District 1 team that includes all NCAA Division 1 schools from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
The junior fencer is concentration in Chemistry and reached the NCAA Championships for the second time in her career. After a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regionals, Chan took 12th at the NCAA Championships, earning All-American honors. Chan defeated the eventual women's individual champion in the sabre and a third-place finisher during pool play.
Chan will now be eligibile for CoSIDA Academic All-American voting.
