
Four Bears Earn All-Ivy Honors; Academic All-League Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its all-league honorees for men's and women's track and field on Tuesday afternoon, with two men and two women from Brown earning all-league laurels. The honors are based off of the performances at this weekend's Ivy League Heptagonal Championships, with all league champions earning First Team honors, and all runners-up earning Second Team All-Ivy.
Senior Jono Pelusi (decathlon) and junior Altan Mitchell (triple jump) both earned second team honors for their performances on Sunday.
Pelusi set a new personal-best by over 200 points in the decathlon, finishing second overall with 6,654 points, good for the fourth-most in program history. During the decathlon, Pelusi took first place in the pole vault (4.48m/14'8.25) and second in the 400m (50.29) and 1500m (4:26.29). Mitchell earned two podium finishes at the championships, highlighted by his runner-up showing in the triple jump at 15.40m (50'6.25).
Also earning second team honors on the women's side are seniors Erin McMeniman (javelin) and Sydney Scott (100m).
Scott set a new personal record in the finals of the 100m meter dash, helping Brown take two of the top three spots with her runner-up time of 11.91 seconds. McMeniman broke her own school record in the javelin at 49.62m (162'9), surpassing her previous school benchmark by 1.29 meters from earlier this year.
The Ivy League also announced that Pelusi and McMeniman have earned Academic All-Ivy League honors. McMeniman is set to graduate with a degree in political science and Pelusi will graduate with a degree in biomedical engineering.
