#5 Women's Crew Sweeps Races Over Cornell, Dartmouth

ITHACA, N.Y. – The fifth-ranked Brown Bears swept the races and took five first-place finishes over the Cornell Big Red and Dartmouth Big Green on Cayuga Lake Saturday morning.
With the win over Cornell, the Bears retained the Dunn Bowl for the 28th consecutive time in Ithaca, improving to 28-0 against Cornell since 1993 and 32-4 in series history.
"This was our last cup race of the regular season and we want to thank Cornell for their exceptional hospitality," said associate head coach Phoebe Murphy. "We feel that the team is making improvements and gaining speed each week and we look forward to the Championship races ahead."
Brown's Varsity 8 crew posted a time of 6:26.4 for 26-second win over Dartmouth and a 31-second win over Cornell to retain the Dunn Bowl over the Big Red.
Brown's 2V8 crew posted a time of 6:28.4, two seconds faster than Brown's 1V8 crew, to take a 15.3-second win over Dartmouth and a 17.6-second win over host Cornell.
The 3V8 Bruno crew completed the sweep with a time of 7:04.5 for a 17.7-second win over the Big Red.
The A4 crew, stroked by Bisbee Scott, posted a time of 7:20.5 for a 12.9-second victory over Dartmouth. Brown crossed the line 23.9 seconds ahead of Cornell.
Brown's B4 crew completed the five-race sweep with a time of 7:21.9, crossing the finish line 18.2 seconds ahead of Dartmouth and 20.3 seconds ahead of Cornell.
Brown returns to action on Sunday (May 1) in the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.
