#20 Men's Lacrosse Set to Host #5 Yale on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 20th-ranked Brown Bears (6-4, 1-2 Ivy League) host the fifth-ranked Yale Bulldogs (7-2, 3-1 Ivy League) Saturday at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The first 300 fans in attendance will receive a free Brown Athletics t-shirt.
Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will broadcast and stream on NESN+ in New England. Saturday's game will stream on ESPN+ outside the region. In addition to the game, the Brown lacrosse program will recognize its members of the Classes of 2020 and 2021 for their commitment to the program throughout their careers.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with a 6-4 overall record and 1-2 Ivy League mark. The Bears are coming off a 12-10 win at eighth-ranked Penn last weekend, erasing a five-goal deficit to pick up the conference win.
- Brown's offense averages 12.80 goals per game to rank 30th in the NCAA. Devon McLane leads the team in goals (31), assists (17), and points (48) and looks to become Brown's first 40-goal scorer since Dylan Molloy '17 in 2017.
- Eight Bears in total have 10 or more points this season. Darian Cook is second on the team in goals (21), assists (16), and points (37).
- Connor Theriault has made nine starts between the pipes for the Bears. He holds a .522 save percentage and 11.69 goals against average. He has recorded 12 or more saves in seven games this season.
- Matthew Gunty has taken the bulk of Brown's faceoffs this season and holds a .543 win-rate (126-232). He ranks third in the Ivy League behind Yale's Nicholas Ramsey (.544) and Princeton's Tyler Sandoval (.550).
- Gunty's 62 ground balls lead the Bears and his 6.89 ground balls per game pace the Ivy League and rank 19th in the NCAA.
- Yale enters the weekend with a 7-2 overall record and 3-1 Ivy League mark. The Bulldogs have won four straight with victories over Princeton (Mar. 26), Penn (Apr. 2), Boston U. (Apr. 5), and Dartmouth (Apr. 9).
- Yale's offense averages 15.00 goals per game to rank second in the Ivy League and seventh in the NCAA.
- Matt Brandau leads the Bulldogs offensively in goals (28), assists (25), points (53), shots (66), and shots on goal (45). He leads the conference and ranks fourth in the NCAA with 5.89 points per game.
- Leo Johnson is second on the team with 20 goals and 28 points. Seven Bulldogs in total have 10 or more points this season.
- Yale's man-up offense clicks at .480 (12-for-25) to rank third in the conference and 11th in the NCAA.
- Defensively, Yale allowed 11.78 goals per game to rank fourth in the conference and 38th in the NCAA.
- Jared Paquette has started all nine games between the pipes and holds a .565 save percentage and 11.53 goals against average. His save percentage ranks second in the Ivy League ninth in the NCAA.
- The Bulldogs rank 10th in the country with 35.56 ground balls per game. With 8.89 caused turnovers per game, Yale ranks 21st in the country. As a team, the Bulldogs lead the conference and are 19th in the NCAA with a .543 win-rate at the X.
- Nicholas Ramsey has taken the bulk of the faceoffs and holds a .544 win-rate (117-215). His win percentage ranks second in the Ivy League, just ahead of Gunty.
- After last weekend's win at Penn (Apr. 9), the Bears jumped back into all three national polls.
- Brown is 17th per the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll, and 20th per the USILA Coaches Poll.
- Yale is fourth per the Inside Lacrosse Poll, fifth per the USILA Poll, and seventh per the USA Lacrosse Poll.
- Six-of-seven Ivy League teams are ranked in all three polls. Dartmouth is the lone unranked Ivy.
- After falling into a 5-0 deficit through 15 minutes, the Bears stormed back to take a 12-10 win at eighth-ranked Penn last Saturday (Apr. 9).
- McLane scored four goals for the Bears, including two EMO tallies. Ryan Aughavin and Reed Moshyedi both added two goals and two assists.
- Theriault tallied 13 saves for the win.
- McLane leads the team in goals (31), assists (17), points (48), shots (88), shots on goal (58), and man-up goals (9).
- He ranks fourth in the Ivy and 16th in the NCAA with 4.80 points per game.
- He ranks fourth in the Ivy and 21st in the NCAA with 3.10 goals per game.
- He ranks sixth in the Ivy and t39th in the NCAA with 1.70 assists per game.
- McLane leads the NCAA with 9 man-up goals. He has more EMO goals than 15 Division I programs.
- After six ground balls in the first eight games, Colin Hart has scooped five in each of the last two games.
- The Garden City, New York native is tied for fourth on the team with 16 ground balls.
- He ranks third on the team with seven caused turnovers and has forced a turnover in each of the last three games.
- After a 3-for-4 performance at Penn (Apr. 9), Brown's man-up offense has 18 goals in 36 attempts (.500) to lead the conference and rank sixth in the NCAA. The Bears are tied with Princeton (14-for-28).
- Brown's man-down defense has allowed just nine goals in 35 attempts (.743) to lead the conference and rank seventh in the NCAA.
