Gymnastics Caps Incredible Season with USAG Individual Finals

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Brown women's gymnastics team concluded its 2022 season on Sunday afternoon with four gymnasts competing in the individual finals at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships.
Competing on vault, freshman Julia Bedell finished tied for third with a score of 9.8125.
On beam, sophomore Angela Xing took home third place by tying her career-high of 9.850, with freshman Taylor Schulze tying for sixth overall at 9.800.
On bars, senior Mei Li Costa capped her incredible Brown career with a score of 9.800 to take seventh overall.
In addition, five Brown gymnasts earned a total of eight All-America honors from USA Gymnastics. All-American honors were earned during Friday's prelims, with all those qualifying for a competing spot in the individual finals earning USAG First Team All-America honors, and those earning alternate spots garnering second team honors.

Previously at USAG Nationals this weekend, Brown posted a score of 194.925 in Friday night's prelims, the third-highest in program history, which qualified them for Saturday's finals for just the third time in program history (2013, 2016).
Brown finishes its 2022 season with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 193.695, the highest in program history, surpassing the previous record of 193.515 from 2016. The team also posted four of the top five scores in program history, including a program record 195.975 to take runner-up at the inaugural GEC Championships on March 19.
Brown also set new team records on vault (48.925), bars (49.225) and floor (49.200) this season, in addition to Costa's individual record score of 9.975 on bars, including receiving the program's first ever 10.0 from one of the judges.
