Casey Chan leads fencers with fifth-place finish at NCAA Northeast Regionals

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Casey Chan posted the best finish for Brown at the 2022 NCAA Northeast Regionals that took place at Vassar College on Sunday (March 13). Chan finished in fifth place in the women's sabre event.

Chan finished the event with a 13-10 overall record and was joined by Rebecca Whang in the sabre as Whang finished in 15th. In the epee, Sofia Yee-Wadsworth earned a 10th-place finish for the Bears with a 10-14 overall record. Arianna Baffa finished in 15th and Audrey Taylor took 38th. Brown's best finish in the foil was a 19th-place finish by Anika Breker. Anisha Kashi was 29th for the Bears and Samantha Chon finished tied for 43rd.

Next, Brown will look to send fencers to the 2022 NCAA Fencing Championships. The NCAA will announce its selections to the championships on Tuesday, March 15.
