PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's tennis team swept Rhode Island 7-0 Friday evening.
"Overall, I didn't think we played well on most courts, especially in singles, but we found a way to close out all of the matches and dig deep when it counted the most," head coach Lucie Schmidhauser said. "It will be important for the team to keep working on staying in control emotionally moving forward as we are getting closer to playing our conference schedule. Olivia Mariotti did a great job in her singles match as well as her doubles with Gabby Dellacono and Britany Lau showed great fight and composure while facing some adversity in her singles match."
Britany Lau and Addison Ahlstrom won their singles matches in straight sets, as did Olivia Mariotti who did not drop a single game. Sophia Reddy, Gabby Soliman, and Lindsey Hofflander won in three sets.
In doubles, no pair lost more than three games as all three came away victorious.
