PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Jack Roberts has been named the Brown Men's Soccer Zisson Family Assistant Coaching Chair, as announced by Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Chase Wileman. Roberts, who will serve as the Bears' recruiting coordinator, comes to Brown from Stetson University where he served as an assistant coach since 2020.
"Brown Men's Soccer certainly got better today," Wileman said. "Jack is one of the top up-and-coming coaches in college soccer and we are thrilled to welcome him and his wife Abby to College Hill. First and foremost, Jack is a great person and will be an excellent role model for our student-athletes. Additionally, he is a top coach and will be a real asset in recruiting high-quality players and people to Brown University. He has great perspective having coached at different levels in college soccer and is extremely motivated to help us get this program back to where it belongs."
During the 2021 season, Roberts helped guide Stetson to its first winning season since 2014 with two victories coming against nationally ranked competition. Stetson advanced to the ASUN Tournament semifinals and saw nine players receive all-conference recognition.
At Stetson, in addition to on-field coaching, Roberts was responsible for recruiting, video analysis, scouting reports, team travel and accommodation arrangements, compliance, and ID camps.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Brown men's soccer program," Roberts said. "The University is one of the most prestigious in the world, the men's soccer team has a history of success, and I couldn't be more excited about the direction in which Coach Wileman is looking to take this program."
Prior to Stetson, Roberts has made coaching stops at Saint Leo University, Missouri State, Williams Woods, Leicester City FC, and Lincoln City FC.
Robert was a four-year member of the Missouri State men's soccer team before playing for AFC Telford United during the 2015-16 year. He was also a member of the Republic of Ireland U19 team in 2008.
Roberts earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Missouri State in 2015 before going on to earn his masters in communications, also from Missouri State.
