LEWISBURG, Pa. – Brown's six game winning streak came to an end with a 12-6 loss to No. 20 Princeton on Sunday.
"Tough loss but we need to learn from it," said Felix Mercado, Head Coaching Chair for Water Polo. "We have to be better offensively and not put our defense in tough spots that allowed Princeton to get going in transition."
Lily Weiser led the way for Brown with two goals. Sophie Golub, Katie Klein, Katharine Knowles and Claire Pisani all had a goal.
Shauna Franke played the first half and finished the game with seven saves in goal. Marley Presiado played the second half, finishing with five saves.
Klein's goal with just over three minutes left in the first quarter tied the game at one but Princeton rattled off six-straight goals over the first and second quarters to take a 7-1 lead. Golub's goal with 2:55 left in the first half ended the Tigers run.
Weiser got on the board with 5:53 in the third and scored again with 2:28 left in the quarter but Brown was down 10-4 after three quarters.
The Bears got two more goals in the final frame with Pisani (6:22) and Knowles (4:25) finding the back of the net.
