The Brown wrestling team will take on Sacred Heart this Sunday, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m. for the team's Senior Meet.
Â
The squad's three seniors reflected on their time as Bears and their thoughts can be found below.
Â
Reese Fry – 125 – Manchester, Mich.
Â
What is your favorite Brown wrestling memory?
Â
Earning the nickname Batman after being given the opportunity to research biosonar in the Simmons bat lab.
Â
What has it meant to you to be a member of this team?
Â
Words cannot describe how special the bonds we have on this team. We have been through thick and thin, competing in one of the toughest sports. I'm glad to have been a part of such a close knit group and having made countless memories.Â
Â
What are the thoughts going through your head leading up to your final home meet?
Â
I'm glad I have had the opportunity to compete on such a great team. We've all trained our hearts out and are ready to put on a show in a special environment alongside gymnastics.Â
Â
What will you miss most about this team? About Brown?
Â
I will miss the feeling when I'm out on the mat and having the whole bench screaming for a pin. On Brown as a whole, I will look back on all the memories I have made and miss living in the moment and feeling like a part of such a great university.Â
Â
AJ Pedro – 174 – Methuen, Mass.
Â
What has it meant to you to be a member of this team?
Â
Being a member of this team has been a humbling experience as well as an honor. The growth I've had as an individual from freshman year to now has been amazing, and going to battle with these guys in the practice room and out in competition has been something I will never forget.
Â
What will you miss most about this team? About Brown?
I will miss the guys on the team and their unwavering support and sense of brotherhood, but if anything I'm excited to see what they'll be able to do moving forward. The future is bright for Brown Wrestling.
I will miss the community and sense of pride that Brown has, as it's been like one big family since I got here 5 years ago.
Â
Cade Wilson – 197 – Nazareth, Pa.
Â
What is your favorite Brown wrestling memory?
Â
My favorite Brown Wrestling memory would be being able to grow closer with plenty of great people including teammates and staff.
Â
What has it meant to you to be a member of this team?
Â
Working together through intense practices creates a great bond between teammates and has helped me learn valuable lessons including discipline and independence. Overall, it has be a great experience and I feel honored to represent Brown on my singlet.
Â
What are the thoughts going through your head leading up to your final home meet?
Â
It is certainly exciting, however, it's definitely going to be something I will miss as my wrestling career comes to an end.
Â
What will you miss most about this team? About Brown?
Â
I believe that I will miss the culture and chemistry of our team here at Brown and the relationships that I have created over my 4 years here.
