Women's basketball downed by Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown women's basketball fell to Princeton, 88-42, on Friday (Feb. 18). Kyla Jones led the Bears with 13 points in the loss.
Brown (6-17, 1-10 Ivy) were tied with Princeton (18-4, 10-0 Ivy) 14-14 after the first quarter with Brown shooting 64% from the floor and holding the Tigers to just 30% shooting. It was a seven-point Princeton lead at the half but Brown was outscored 32-6 in the third quarter as Princeton took control of the game.
Jones finished 6-for-14 from the floor and scored 11 of her 13 points in the first quarter. Jones also led the team with two steals. Isabella Mauricio was the other Bear to score in double-figures on the night with 11 points and increased her streak to 18 games with a made three-point basket.
Brown ended the game shooting 40% from the floor but went just 1-for-15 from three-point range (6.7%), the lowest percentage and fewest makes on the season for Brown.
The Bears finished the game with eight steals and three blocks but committed a season-high 31 turnovers that Princeton turned into 29 points.
Mya Murray led the Bears with six rebounds. Ashley Ducharme and Gianna Aiello each scored six points.
Brown could not stop Princeton's Abby Myers, who finished the game with 25 points, shooting 11-for-16 from the field.

Brown will travel to Penn for a matchup against the Quakers on Saturday (Feb. 19) with the game beginning at 6 p.m.
