PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown alum Michael Hoecht '20 is on the eve of the biggest game of his career.
When Hoecht and the rest of his Los Angeles Rams teammates take the field for Super Bowl LVI on Sunday evening, Hoecht will be making the 12th appearance by a Brown alum in the big game. Since 2001, Brown Football has seen alums win eight Super Bowl rings, more than the rest of the Ivy League combined during that span.
As a senior in 2019, Hoecht led Brown with nine tackles for a loss, four sacks and seven quarterback hurries. He ranked fourth on the team with 42.0 total tackles. His performance earned him Second Team All-Ivy honors. He finished his career with 174 tackles, including 29.5 for a loss, 17 sacks, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. His 17 career sacks rank third in program history.
This season with the Rams, Hoecht has made seven tackles while appearing in 20 games, including three starts, seeing action as a defensive lineman and on special teams.
The Rams and Cincinnati Bengals will square off at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
