Shauna Franke named CWPA Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Women's water polo goalie Shauna Franke was named Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week by the Collegiate Water Polo Association after her strong performance at the Bruno Classic.Â
Franke made her first start of the season at the Bruno Classic and went 3-2 in goal for the Bears. Franke finished the weekend with 45 saves and seven steals, while collecting two assists.Â
Franke and the Bears will be back in action at the Santa Clara Spring Tournament on Feb. 19-20.
