
Women's swimming and diving wins Bruno Invite as another school record falls

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's swimming and diving won the Bruno Invitational and another program record fell on the final night of the meet on Sunday (Dec. 4).
The Bears won the event with 1,598 points, ahead of New York University (782) and New Hampshire (752).
Elena Yeh set another program record on the diving boards with her performance on the 3-meter. Yeh finished the event with 314.70 points, more than six points higher than the previous record. Bowie Krawczyk finished second in the event and posted the second-highest score in program history with 310.35 points.
Brown again swept the events in the pool beginning with Sara Barrett winning the 1650 freestyle. Barrett swam the fifth-fastest time in program history with a time of 16:45.95. Sumner Chmielewski (16:58.81) finished in second and Bella Antoniuk (17:06.64) took third.
In the 200 backstroke, Jenna Reznicek posted the third-fastest time in program history, touching the wall in 1:58.04.
Kelly Dolce won the 100 freestyle as one of five Bears to finish in the top five. Dolce won with a time of 50.16 and Anna Podurgiel was right behind with a time of 50.18. Yvonne Jia took third in a time of 50.79.
Ellie Brault won the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:16.22, the fifth-fastest time in program history, and Kaitlyn Holmes finished second with a time of 2:17.14.
In the 200 butterfly, Zehra Bilgin took home first with a time of 1:59.83, swimming the fifth-fastest time in program history. Nell Chidley came in third in the event with a time of 2:01.03.
To close out the night, the Brown team of Dolce, Jia, Lukinac and Podurgiel won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:21.96. Dolce's lead-off 100 freestyle time of 50.05 was the eighth-fastest in program history.
