PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's swimming and diving team completed the second day of competition at the Bruno Invitational Saturday. After two days of competition, the Bears lead NYU 977-772.
"We had another great day of racing, lots of best times and exciting performances," Ollie '50 & Kay Patrell Men's Swimming/Diving Coaching Chair Kevin Norman said. "We started the night out with a pair of very fast 200 Medley Relays and held on to the momentum and energy we created. Tomorrow people might start to feel a little different being a few sessions and several races into the meet, but we'll make some adjustments to our race prep in the morning and get ready to wrap up the weekend on a high note."
Of the eight events held on the second day of competition, Brown came away with six first-place finishes.
The Bears claimed first place in both relay events on the day. In the 200 medley relay, a team of Harrison Powe, Jack Kelly, Nathan DePiero, and Marcus Lee won with a time of 1:27.69. Then in the 800 free relay, Lukas Scheidl, Lee, KJ Losee, and Finn Page came in first with aa 6:35.09. The Bears also had a team finish in second place in both events.
Brown swept the podium in the 400 IM, 100 breast, and three meter dive.
In the 400 IM, Scheidl (3:49.31) took first with Max Hardart (3:52.35) finishing in second and Colin MacKellar (3:56.93) in third.
