
Men's basketball takes on Northwestern to cap 2022

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's basketball team will take on its second Big Ten opponent of the season this Thursday, Dec. 29 when the Bears face Northwestern in a 12 p.m. CT road matchup.
The contest will be the Bears' final before Ivy League play starts in January.

Scouting the Bears (7-5)
- Last time out, Brown took down New Hampshire 67-51 in Providence. Nana Owusu-Anane led all scorers with 16 points, while Kino Lillly Jr. had 15. Kalu Anya continued his impressive freshman campaign with seven points, nine boards, and four assists.
- The win over UNH was the Bears' sixth victory in the last seven games. During that stretch, Brown has held opponents to just 57.4 points per game.
- Paxson Wojcik is tied for second in the Ivy League with 7.3 rebounds per game. His 6.7 defensive rebounds per contest lead the conference. His 2.9 assists are good for seventh, his 12.2 points 10th, and 1.8 assist/turnover ratio is tied for second.
- Northwestern is off to its best start to a season since 2016, when the team also started 9-2.
- The Wildcats possess the seventh-ranked scoring defense in the country as they have allowed opponents to score just 55.5 points per game.
- Northwestern has three players averaging double figures with Chase Audige (14.5) leading the way and Boo Buie (14.1) and Robbie Beran (10.4) just behind. Beran also leads the team with 6.5 rebounds per contest.
- The Bears and Wildcats have faced off nine times in their history, with Northwestern coming out on top in seven of those matchups.
- The last Brown victory came in 2007, a 73-67 Bear win in Evanston, Ill. It was also Brown's last victory over a Power 5 opponent.
