
Women's swimming and diving leads Bruno Invite after Day 1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's swimming leads the Bruno Invitational at the end of day one as the Bears won all five events. The Bears have 404 points after day one, leading New York University (225) and New Hampshire (216).
The night started with the team of Jenna Reznicek, Kellie Willhite, Kelly Dolce and Morgan Lukinac winning the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:32.80.
In the 500 freestyle, Sara Barrett picked up a win with a time of 4:50.08 and Sumner Chmielewski came in second, touching the wall in 4:51.09. Barrett's time was the fifth-fastest in Brown program history and Chmielewski's was seventh.
It was a sweep for the Bears in the 200 IM with Anna Podurgiel winning in 2:00.69. Yvonne Jia (2:02.17) and Ellie Brault (2:02.38) finished in second and third, respectively. Podurgiel swam the second-fastest time in school history, bettering her own time from last season. Jia and Brault swam the fifth and seventh-fastest times in program history.
The Bears owned the top-two spots in the 50 freestyle with Sam Scott winning (22.60) and Lukinac taking second (23.09).
The night closed with the 400 medley relay and the team of Reznicek, Ellie Brault, Zehra Bilgin and Podurgiel winning in 3:40.67.
