PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball head coach Kate Wheeler has announced the 2023 schedule for the Bears. Fans will have 14 dates to see the Bears at home at the Brown softball field.
The Bears have a tough schedule to get them ready for Ivy League play. During non-conference play, Brown will play 11 games against teams that finished last season in the top-150 in RPI and four teams that competed in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears will also be competing against SEC school for the first time in program history.
"We have intentionally created an arduous schedule," said Wheeler. "We have talent and depth this year and want to be prepared for our Ivy League games and this tough pre-conference schedule will test us and give us invaluable experience. Our goal this year is to compete day in and day out and earn a spot in the inaugural Ivy League Softball Tournament."
Brown starts the season at the Plainsman Invitational hosted by Auburn from February 24-26. The Bears will play Summit League stalwart North Dakota State and Auburn on the first day, followed by games against NDSU and Merrimack on the second day. The final day of the tournament will be against Merrimack.
