
Cross Country Set for NCAA Regional Meet

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's and women's cross country programs will return to Van Cortland Park in the Bronx for the second straight meet on Friday, Nov. 11 for the NCAA Northeast Regional. The Bears are familiar with the hilly course, having competed there at Ivy League Heps back on October 28.
The meet will get underway at 11 a.m. with the women's 6K race, followed by the men's 10K at noon. An awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of both races.

ABOUT BROWN
Sophomore Evan Sherman has led the men's pack in all five of the races he's competed in this fall, most recently leading the Bears at the Ivy League Heps on Oct. 28. He previously won the individual title at the Rothenberg Run (5K-15:15.9), and placed seventh overall out of 167 runners at the Suffolk Short Course Classic in Boston back on September 2. Senior Nate Price led the Bears at the NEICAAA Championships and placed second on the team (fifth overall) at the Rothenberg Run before finishing third on the Bears at Heps. Sophomore Justin Hickey finished eighth overall and second on the team at the Suffolk Short Course Classic and has scored team points in all five of his meets.
On the women's side, Brown turned in a team title at the Rothenberg Run on October 21, narrowly missing a perfect score with 16 points. Senior Lily Harding has led Brown's pack in two of her four races, including last time out on the Van Cortland course at Heps. Sophomore Isolde McManus has led Brown's pack in four of her six meets, and took fourth on the team at Heps. Senior Emma Madgic has scored points in five meets, and first-year Emily Mrakovcic has placed in Brown's top three in three of her four races, including leading the pack at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown.
USTFCCCA RANKINGS
Two teams on both the men's and women's sides from the Northeast Region enter this weekend's championships ranked in the latest USTFCCCA national poll with Syracuse 10th and Harvard 22nd on the men's side. Providence comes in 18th and Syracuse sitting 26th on the women's side.
