
Brown falls in third-place game to Harvard, 11-9

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo's season came to a close with a tough 11-9 loss in the third-place game against Harvard at the NWPC Tournament.
Cole Atwell and Ben Kirshon led the Bears with two goals each in the loss. Kole Newman finished the game with four saves in the first half.
Brown jumped out to an early lead with Atwell scoring both of his goals in the first quarter and Newman finishing with four saves as the Bears led 2-0 after one quarter.
Brown maintained the lead in the second quarter with goals from Max Boucher, Ben Resko and Kirshon, holding a 5-4 lead at half.
Evan Moore's goal in the third quarter put Brown up 6-4 and goals by Kirshon and Daniel Khristich gave Brown the 8-6 lead with eight minutes to play.
Harvard opened up the scoring with two goals in the fourth to tie the game but Thomas Hoffmeister put Brown back up with five minutes left to play. Unfortunately for the Bears, that was the last time they would find the net as Harvard would score the final three goals of the game to ge the win.
