Bears Shoot 59 Percent from the Field in 75-70 Loss
11/13/2022 7:46:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BALTIMORE – Brown men's basketball (0-3) shot 59.1 percent from the field and all five starters reached double figures in Sunday's 75-70 setback to Loyola (1-2) at Reitz Arena.
Paxson Wojcik finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two steals. The double-double was his second of the season and his five dimes were a career-high for the senior.
"This was a frustrating loss," said Mike Martin '04, Men's Basketball Head Coaching Chair. "We certainly had our chances but too many possessions where we came up empty - whether it was turnovers or missed free throws. We will learn from this and grow."
Brown struggled from the charity stripe, going 11-of-30 and Loyola made 22 points off the Bears' 23 turnovers.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Brown shot 46.7 percent from three-point range with Wojcik pacing the way with three. Friday led the Bears with 15 points, followed by 12 apiece for Wojcik and Kino Lilly Jr. Owusu-Anane posted 11 points, nine rebounds and five assists and Anya recorded 10. Cooley registered two blocked shots.
For the Greyhounds, Jones and Jaylin Andrews each had 18 points and Loyola finished with 15 steals.
