Men's basketball hosts Colgate in home opener

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's basketball team will play its home opener Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. against Colgate.

Both teams will be looking to pick up their first victories of the season after dropping their respective season openers.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.

Scouting the Bears

Brown opened its season at Vermont in a tough 80-65 setback. The Bears were within single digits for most of the game, but the Catamounts pulled away late to claim the win.
Kino Lilly Jr. led all Bears in both minutes (34) and points (18). If the game had accured last year, it would have been his seventh-highest point total from Lilly's Ivy Rookie of the Year campaign.
Paxson Wojcik and Dan Friday each had 13 points in the contest. Wojcik posted a double-double with 10 rebounds as well.
The Bears will be looking to clean up a few things at home on Thursday after turning the ball over 16 times at Vermont.

Scouting the Raiders

Colgate, the two-time defending Patriot League champion, was picked to three-peat in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
The Raiders dropped an 88-87 road contest at Buffalo to open their season.
Tucker Richardson and Braeden Smith had 22 and 20 points in the game respectively to lead Colgate.
The Raiders turned the ball over 19 times against Buffalo, two times more than their season-high of 17 from 2021-22.

History

Brown and Colgate haven't faced off since 1993. The Raiders won that contest 85-65.
Before that, the Bears had won three in a row dating back to 1958.
All-time, Colgate leads the series 11-6.
