Women's Crew Posts Strong Finishes at 57th Head of the Charles Regatta

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brown women's crew closed the 2022 fall slate on Sunday at the 57th Head of the Charles Regatta. The Bears had three crews compete this afternoon with two eights and a four, all racing in the Championship flights.
"The Head of the Charles Regatta was a great way for the team to end the fall season!" said senior captain Dahlia Levine. "We're happy to have laid down some strong races, but we're ready to buckle down and gain more speed for the spring season."
The Brown Championship Eight 'A' boat, stroked by Caroline Schmitz, posted a time of 15:21.843 to finish fourth overall and third among collegiate crews. Leander (15:14.224) finished first with Penn (15:15.491) and Washington (15:20.996) rounding out the top-three, respectively.
Brown's Championship Eight 'B' boat crossed the line with a time of 15:51.800 to finish 14th overall, sandwiched between Tennessee 'A' (15:48.040) and Northeastern 'A' (15:53.413).
The Championship Four crew finished second overall and first among collegiate crews with a time of 17:22.921. The Bears trailed only the USRowing crew (16:48.415).
On Saturday, Brown saw three alumnae crews compete in the famed regatta with two crews in the Alumnae Eights race and one in the Alumnae Fours race.
The Brown Alumnae Eight 'A' finished second in the field of 45 crews with a time of 16:21.516, less than four seconds back of Washington Alumnae 'A'. The crew featured: Ellie Baker '22, Maya Barnard '22, Claire Benning '19, Limor Dubrovsky '22, Assistant Coach Tessa Gobbo '13, Zoe HasBrouck '22, Beate Kaz '22, Catherine Porter '20, and Hannah Yazdani '22.
Bruno's Alumnae Eight 'B' crew clocked a time of 17:37.943 to finish 16th in the same race. The shell included: Gabi Agnew '22, Noelle Cooke '21, Alexandra Hammer Ducas '07, Anne Hooper '11, Amanda Pyne '22, Jeanette Saraidaridis Lovett '07, Molly Usher '22, Clara Warmath '22, and Duncan Wilkinson '91.
The Bruno Alumnae Four crew finished second with a time of 19:15.409, finishing behind only MIT Grad 'A' (19:13.968). The crew included: Geena Fram '18, Lucy Hajian '17, Anna Johnson '16, Ruby Moore-Bloom '17, and Jennifer Mundelius '18.
