
Track and Field Wraps Up Competition at Beantown Challenge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Brown men's and women's track and field teams had a combined nine podium finishes and hit 17 NEICAAA qualifying marks on Saturday afternoon at the Beantown Challenge on the campus of Harvard University. The men's team took home fourth place overall out of eight teams, while the women's team finished fifth.
Grad student Bretram Rogers took home the gold in the men's 60-meter hurdles, Sidarth Raman (high jump), John McNeil (long jump), Michael Neary (shot put) and Kegan Schroeter (weight throw) all took home silver medals, and Daniel Sarisky earned bronze in the 200 meters, with all marks qualifying the for the NEICAA Championships.
The women's team had three podium finishes on the day, including freshman Rudecia Bernard in the high jump, Daryn Davis in the triple jump, and senior Sydney Scott in the long jump, with all hitting NEICAA qualifying standards.

SPRINTS
- Rogers ran a winning time of 7.99 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to take home the gold.
- Sarisky (22.60) scored sixth points with a third place finish in the 200m dash, and Joshua Lim (22.63) also scored with his fifth place finish. Andrew Li qualified for the finals of the 60m dash and set a new PR in the 200m.
- Scott led the women in the 60 meters, placing fifth in the finals in 7.79 seconds, which was also a NEICAAA qualifying time. Sophomore Jaiden Stokes also competed in the finals of the 60m after hitting a New England qualifying mark of 7.89 seconds in the prelims.
- Seniors Arielle Desir (4th/25.79) and Maddie Frey (5th/25.82) placed back-to-back in the top five of the 200 meters to combine for nine team points.
- Junior Lily Dumas (9.08) crossed the line fifth in the finals of the 60m hurdles, meeting an NEICAAA mark.
JUMPS
- Raman finished runner-up in the high jump to lead Brown, clearing 2.07 meters to tie his PR for the second straight meet. Jono Pelusi took sixth place in the high jump by setting a new PR of his own at 1.87 meters.
- In the long jump, Brown had a trio of sophomore jumpers all hit NEICAAA qualifying marks, with McNeil leading the way in second place at 7.21m, followed by Zach Love (7.15m) in fourth and Sam Hurcomb (6.90m) in eighth.
- On the women's side, the Bears also had three athletes qualify for New Englands, led by Scott who finished on the podium in third place (5.78m), and followed by Lauren Yeboah-Kodie (5.77m) and Lauren Stern (5.61m).
- Bernard took runner-up in the high jump by clearing 1.67 meters on her second attempt.
- Davis took home third place with a triple jump mark of 11.67m, and Jada Joseph leapt 11.34m to finish fifth overall.
THROWS
- In the shot put, Neary sent the shot an even 16.00 meters to set a new personal-best and earning a silver medal in the process.
- Schroeter tallied a second-place finish of his own in the weight throw with a toss of 18.86m, a new personal record by a full 15 centimeters.
- Sophomore Kendra Ezeama led the way for Brown's women's throwers with a fifth place, NEICAAA mark of 13.33 meters in the shot put.
