McNeil Takes Gold in High Jump to Highlight Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore John McNeil took home first place in the high jump and freshman Andrew Li landed on the podium in third place in the 60 meters to lead the partial squad of Brown men's track and field athletes at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University on Sunday.
McNeil led the way in the high jump, taking home the gold in the field of 16 with a New England and IC4A qualifying jump of 2.08 meters, his second individual win in the high jump this season, joining his victory from the season-opening Alden Invitational. His mark of 2.12 meters from the Alden Invitational still ranks him No. 1 in the Ivy League this season.
Li took third place overall in the finals of the open 60 meters, finishing in 7.18 seconds, just one-hundredth off his personal record. He also set a new PR in the 200 meters at the meet (22.94). Freshman Daniel Sarisky PR'd in the 200-meter finals in 22.17 seconds, which ranks him 15th in the Ivy League. Senior Bretram Rogers came just 0.02 seconds away from his PR, finishing in 22.46. Sophomore Jack Kelley moved into the top 20 in the Ivy League in the 400 meters with his time of 50.34 seconds.
In the 1,000 meters, senior Aaron Siff-Scherr set a new personal record of 2:27.87 to lead Brown in 11th place out of 41 runners, and move him into 15th in the Ivy League. Both junior Nate Price and senior Griffin McCauley led the Bears in the mile, each setting new PRs with McCauley finishing in 4:08.72 and Price in 4:14.42. McCauley's time puts him 17th among Ivy runners this season.
Up next, the Bears are schedule to send athletes to four different meets next weekend, highlighted by qualified runners competing at the NEICAAA Championships on Boston Feb. 4-5.
