Cathey and Duba Named NIRA Division I Honorable Mention Selections

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown senior captain Olivia Duba and freshman Akilah Cathey both earned NIRA Division I Honorable Mention accolades following standout Fall 2021 seasons for the Bears. The NIRA announced the post-season teams earlier this evening.
Duba finished her senior season second on the team in scoring with 44 points. The captain nailed 14 conversions to lead the team and added three tries and one penalty kick. Her three tries were tied for the fourth-most on the team this season.
Cathey broke into the starting lineup in her first season on College Hill and posted three tries for 15 points in the Fall season. Cathey helped Brown's backline hold opponents to 20 or less points in five of eight games this season.
Army and Dartmouth led programs with five players named to the First XV. Harvard had four named to the postseason squad and Sacred Heart rounded out the First Team with one selection.
Brown, Dartmouth, and Quinnipiac each saw two student-athletes earn Honorable Mention accolades. Army, Harvard, LIU, Mount St. Mary's, and Sacred Heart all saw one earn Honorable Mention honors.
