Bears Set to Welcome Union for Midweek Clash

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will welcome Union to Meehan Auditorium on Tuesday evening for a midweek ECAC clash. The puck will drop at 6 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet. The Bears enter the contest holding a 4.5-point lead over Union in the ECAC standings.

Brown will conclude its four game homestand this Friday evening at 6 p.m. when they host No. 8 Yale. The Bears will face the Bulldogs once again on Saturday evening at Ingalls Rink in New Haven, Conn.
SCOUTING BROWN (2-16-2, 2-10-1 ECAC)
- The Bears are coming off a pair of 2-1 defeats over the weekend to Cornell and then-No. 6 Colgate.
- Freshman defenseman Meadow Carman netted her second goal of the year to tie the score 1-1 midway through the third period on the power play against Cornell before the Big Red scored what proved to be the game-winner with 2:26 remaining in regulation.
- Facing the No. 6 Raiders, Brown fell behind 1-0 early, but battled back with a goal by Megan Forrest midway through the opening period. Colgate took a 2-1 lead in the second period and held off a late Brown surge for the 2-1 win.
- Sophomore goaltender Kaley Doyle has posted 65 saves over her last two games, good for a .938 save percentage.
- Senior forward Shay Maloney leads the team with 11 points on seven goals and four assists.
- Sophomore forward Madie Stockfish has four goals and four assists, tied with freshman Anna Hurd four second on the team with eight points.
SCOUTING UNION (4-20-1, 1-3-0 ECAC)
- Union enters Tuesday's matchup averaging 1.3 goals per game, while allowing 4.0 goals per contest.
- Union will look to snap a five-game skid entering this week. The Dutchwomen have been outscored 19-1 over their last four games since returning from the holiday break. Most recently, Union dropped a pair of road matchups at St. Lawrence (5-1) and No. 7 Clarkson (4-0).
- The Dutchwomen's lone conference victory came at Dartmouth back on December 4.
- Senior forward Grace Heiting leads the squad with eight goals and 12 points, having registered at least one point in three of the last four games.
- Celeste Beaudoin and Emily King each have seven assists.
- Olivia Rinzel has started 19 of the team's games in goal, holding a 4.02 GAA. Sophie Matsoukas has posted a 3.51 goals-against average in seven games this season, while earning two of the team's wins.
