Brown Concludes Weekend at URI Coaches Tribute Invite

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Brown track and field programs wrapped up their weekend competition on Saturday evening after a solid string of performances at the Coaches Tribute Invitational, hosted by URI.
Sophomore Lauren Yeboah-Kodie set a pair of personal records on the day, including running the seventh-fastest 60-meter hurdles time in program history. In total, the two teams combined for 15 podium finishes, including three wins on the women's side - Yeboah-Kodie in the triple jump, Jada Joseph in the long jump, and Kendra Ezeama in the shot put.
SPRINTS
For the women, Yeboah-Kodie set one of her two PRs on the day with her third place finish in the hurdles at 8.81 seconds, a mark that ranks seventh-fastest in program history. Daryn Davis placed fourth in the finals after setting a new PR of 8.88 seconds in the prelims.
Jaiden Stokes took third place in the finals of the 60 meters, finishing in 7.91 seconds. Sophomore Cecilia Marrinan ran the 200 meters in 26.18 to place fifth out of 40 runners, with Emma Gallant finishing sixth in 26.23.
On the men's side, freshman Daniel Sarisky (7.03) and senior Bretram Rogers (7.05) qualified for the finals in the 60-meter dash, taking fourth and fifth, respectively.
Sophomore Marcus Gillespie posted a time of 8.40 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle finals to finish on the podium in third place.
JUMPS
Brown's women dominated the triple jump by sweeping the podium and the top five spots overall, led by Yeboah-Kodie who tallied another personal-best at 11.65m. Davis (11.60m) finished second, followed by Sydney Scott (11.42m) in third. Senior Lauren Stern (11.21m) followed in fourth and Brooklyn Manna (PR-10.97) completed the sweep in fifth.
Joseph picked up the first individual win of her collegiate career by taking gold in the long jump at 5.54m, and also added a runner-up performance in the high jump, clearing 1.60m.
Sidarth Raman earned two podium finishes courtesy of his runner-up showing in the men's triple jump at 13.94m, and his third place, personal record leap of 6.97m in the long jump. Zach Love took third place to earn bronze in the triple jump at 13.78m, and finished just off the podium in fourth of the long jump (6.87m).
THROWS
Ezeama won the shot put with a season-best mark of 13.69 meters for her first collegiate win. A pair of newcomers led Brown in the weight throw with Mackenzie Palinski (15.81m) leading the Bears on the podium in third place, and Sophia Gallucci (15.61m) finishing sixth, both hitting season-bests.
Senior Michael Neary finished runner-up in the men's shot put at 16.39m, and senior Kegan Schroeter also took second place with a 18.79m weight throw. Freshman Tyler Gurth set a pair of collegiate PRs with his 13.83m shot put, and 14.24m weight throw.
Brown will head to Boston next weekend to compete at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday-Saturday.
