Brown Travels to UNC for Saturday Quad Meet

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Following a one-week layoff, the Brown gymnastics team is in North Carolina for a quad meet this Saturday against the host Tar Heels, No. 8 Missouri and George Washington.

The Bears opened their season back on January 9 in a quad meet against Yale, Bridgeport and West Chester. Last weekend's scheduled dual meet at Southern Connecticut State was postponed.
In the season opener, Brown competed for the first time in 672 days and had senior Mei Li Costa tie for third overall on beam. Senior Sophia Petrillo led the way for Brown on the uneven bars and sophomore Angela Xing paced Brown on floor. Senior Alyssa Gardner also set a new personal-best of 9.675 on bars.

Brown will host its home opener next Sunday, January 30 at the Pizzitola Sports Center with a tri-meet against Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut State. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
