Field Hockey to Welcome Merrimack for Sunday Matinee

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Fresh off a season-opening 2-0 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday, the Brown field hockey team will host Merrimack on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Goldberger Family Field.
Sunday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

- Brown received a pair of third quarter goals on Friday from junior Ana Claire Piacentini and sophomore Grace Kinsella, their first collegiate goals.
- Danielle van Rootselaar and Lindsey Ross each picked up assists.
- Junior Jodie Brine made five saves in the win, while Brown enjoyed a 16-7 edge in shots and a 9-2 advantage on penalty corners.
SCOUTING MERRIMACK (0-3)
- Merrimack is in search of its first win of the season following a trio of shutout losses to start the season at Temple, La Salle and a 6-0 loss at Yale on Friday.
- The Warriors have been outscored 11-0 so far this season, with Sunday's match concluding a streak of four straight road matches to start the season.
- Jane Bonazzoli leads the Warriors in shots (3) and shots on goal (2).
- Merrimack is 2-23 since making the jump to Division I in 2019, with wins over Maine and Bryant in 2019. The Warriors were selected eighth in the Northeast Conference preseason poll.
