Volleyball starts season against Bryant, Boston College, Holy Cross

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown volleyball team opens its 2021 season on Friday, Sept. 3 against Bryant University. The Bears will then look towards matchups with Boston College and Holy Cross on Saturday, Sept. 4.

- The Bears return two All-Ivy selections from 2019 in Sophia Miller and Kaitlyn Wong. Miller was a unanimous Ivy League Rookie of the Year selection as well as being named to the All-Ivy first team. Wong was an All-Ivy honorable mention.
- Brown has won its season-opening match three years in a row. They took down Farleigh Dickinson in 2017 and 2018, and defeated Seattle in 2019.
What to Know About Bryant:
- Bryant is three matches into its 2021 season. The Bulldogs are 3-0 on the year with victories over Holy Cfross, Quinnipiac, and Rhode Island.
- Caroline Kennedy and Emma McGovern are tied for a team lad of 2.73 kills per set.
What to Know About Boston College:
- BC is also 3-0 on the young season with wins over Sacred Heart, Hartford, and Northeastern.
- Katrina Jensen's 3.27 kills per set lead the Eagles.
What to Know About Holy Cross:
- The Crusaders are 1-3 on the year, having lost to Quinnpiac, Bryant, and Rhode Island, but most recently defeating Merrimack.
- Abbie Lane leads Holy Cross with 2.91 kills per set.
