PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown head wrestling coach Todd Beckerman has announced the team's 2021-22 schedule. The slate consists of five regular season tournaments as well as 15 dual meets.
"Our guys have had a long time to train and prepare and now, we are all really looking forward to getting back out there and competing," head coach Todd Beckerman said. "We always try to put together a challenging schedule so that come championship time in March, our wrestlers will be battle-tested and ready to go."
When the season gets underway at the Binghamton Open on Nov. 14, it will be Brown's first action since March 7, 2020 at the EIWA Championships. The Bears follow up opening weekend with three more competitions with the Boilermaker Duals (Nov. 21), Cougar Clash (Dec. 4), and Midlands (Dec. 29-30).
The first Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association meet will come against Hofstra on Dec. 9, followed by Franklin & Marshall (Jan. 6), Drexel (Jan. 14), and Bucknell (Jan. 15) over the next couple of weeks.
The back half of the schedule starts Ivy League competition with Cornell (Jan. 22), Penn (Jan. 28), Princeton (Jan. 29), Columbia (Feb. 11) and Harvard (Feb. 17).
The regular season comes to a close on Feb. 20 with the annual Rumble & tumble meet against Sacred Heart. EIWA Championships run from March 5 – 6 and NCAA Championships are from March 17 – 19 in Detroit at the Little Caesars Arena.
