
Baseball’s Lomuscio Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District for Third Straight Year

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University baseball senior Joe Lomuscio has earned First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades for the third consecutive year, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Thursday.
The 2021 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Lomusico, an economics concentrator and two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, was voted team captain for 2021. In 2020, he started all 12 games as the team's center fielder and was named an Academic All-Ivy selection. He led the Bears with six stolen bases and posted a .404 slugging percentage.
A native of West Roxbury, Mass., he earned First Team All-Ivy honors as a sophomore (2019) after he led the league with 37 hits and recorded a .370 batting average in Ivy play. Lomuscio has started every possible game (88) since his freshman season and has a .303 career batting average to go along with 105 hits.
Honorees selected first-team Academic All-District® will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 29.
