
Men’s Crew Alumni Weiss ’15, Miklasevich ’19 Earn Olympic Selections

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University men's crew alumni Anders Weiss '15 and Alex Miklasevich '19 have both earned selection to the USRowing Men's Olympic Team and will represent the U.S. at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, USRowing announced on Friday.
Weiss – making his second appearance at the Olympics – will compete with the men's four while Miklasevich – making his debut at the Games – will race with the men's eight. Both athletes gained their spots through the camp selection process. Olympic rowing events will take place from July 23 through July 30, 2021. The Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo will host all rowing events.

A native of Barrington, R.I., Weiss competed at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, finishing in 11th place in the pair. Competing on the senior level since 2016, he finished 13th in the pair at the 2019 World Rowing Championships, 15th in the pair at the 2018 World Rowing Championships, and 11th in the pair at the 2017 World Rowing Championships.
At Brown, Weiss twice earned Second Team All-Ivy honors helping the Bears earn silver medals in the varsity eight at the Eastern Sprints in both 2013 and 2014. He claimed a bronze medal in the varsity eight at the IRA National Championships in 2013.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Miklasevich competed at the U23 level from 2018-19. He gained a silver medal in the eight at the 2019 U23 World Championships. He also finished seventh in the eight at the 2019 World Rowing Cup III and won gold in the four with coxswain at the 2018 U23 World Championships.
During his time at Brown, Miklasevich captured bronze medals in the varsity eight at Eastern Sprints in both 2016 and 2019. He also took home a bronze medal at the 2018 Head of the Charles and raced with the Bears at the 2017 Henley Royal Regatta.
The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 kick off July 23, 2021 and conclude August 8, 2021. Final selections to the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team are subject to U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee approval.
