
Women’s Tennis Announces Three-Member Class of 2025

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's tennis head coach Lucie Schmidhauser has announced the program's three-member class of 2025, set to join the team for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
"We are very excited to welcome this year's freshman class to our team," said Schmidhauser. "Gabby, Addie and Lindsey are accomplished tennis players with talent and proven results. Equally important to the championship culture we are building, they are also great people who will positively impact our team and the Brown community overall."
Addison Ahlstrom
Hometown: Woodside, Calif.
High School: Menlo School
Before Brown: Played #1 singles for the Menlo School … Two-time WBAL MVP (2018, 2019) … Won three-straight team WBAL Championships (2017-19) … Won the CCS and NorCal Championship in 2019 … Named First Team WBAL in 2017 … Class President as a freshman and sophomore … Junior Class Senator … Student Body Vice President (2020-2021) … Received the J Anthony Paulus Student Life Award (June 2021).
Why Brown: "I chose Brown because I was seeking both a competitive tennis environment and a challenging yet collaborative academic setting. I was drawn to the welcoming and inclusive campus culture at Brown, the unique and diverse student body, and the academic flexibility of the curriculum. As for the tennis program, the tight-knit team culture and coach Lucie's dedication to improvement made Brown the ideal place to further develop my game and continue my tennis journey."
Lindsey Hofflander
Hometown: Las Vegas, Nev.
High School: The Meadows School
Before Brown: Played #1 singles for The Meadows School … Helped her team with three Nevada State and Regional Championships (2017-19) … Was the 2019 Regional Singles Champion … Two-time Nevada State Singles Finalist (2017-18) … Earned the MVP Award in 2017 and 2020 … Selected Player of the Year, First Team, All-League and All-Region in 2017 and 2018 … Won six Champion Titles and five Finalist Titles in singles … Achieved 18 Champion Titles and 12 Finalist Titles in doubles … Ranked 78th in the nation in February of 2020 and 14th in August of 2019 … Received the USTA Best of Nevada All-State Award in 2018 … Two-time USTA Nevada Scholar Athlete of the Year Award recipient (2018-19) … Earned the USTA Nevada Sportsmanship Award in 2019 … Three-time USTA Nevada Award for Academic Excellence honoree (2018-20) … Member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society … Achieved High Honors all four years … National AP Scholar.

Before Brown: Reached an ITF career high ranking of 272 … Won four ITF Championships … Was a six-time championship runner-up … Reached six semifinals and nine quarterfinals …. Five-Star Recruit ... Salutatorian.

I knew before committing that I would be challenged both on and off the court and the environment at Brown would make me a well-rounded person."
