Crain Named 2021 Men’s Soccer Captain

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Patrick Laughlin has announced that junior Will Crain (Athens, Ga.) will serve as team captain for the 2021 season. The program will select an additional captain before the fall season begins.
"Will Crain has been selected by his teammates as the captain of the 2021 team," said Laughlin. "While he was sidelined and recovering from surgery during the 2019 season, Will demonstrated great leadership from a difficult position. He has been at the forefront of our team as we have navigated all the twists and turns caused by the pandemic. He is engaging with his teammates and doing all he can to keep the group connected while we work to prepare for the fall of 2021. I am excited for the program as we continue to move forward in this positive direction and to have Will leading our players."
Crain will return to the lineup in 2021 after missing all of the 2019 campaign due to injury. He started all 17 games at defense as a freshman in 2017 and ranked third on the team in minutes played.
