Baseball Releases 2022 Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown head baseball coach Grant Achilles has officially released the team's schedule for the upcoming 2022 season. The schedule features 37 games, including 12 at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium and 10 in Tennessee, Florida and North Carolina to open the season.
"To say our team is excited for the upcoming season is an understatement," Achilles said. "The non-conference schedule provides a new test every week in preparation for our first Ivy competition since 2019."
The Bears played 12 games down south to open the 2020 season before the rest of the schedule was canceled due to the pandemic. The Ivy League did not have a 2021 season due to COVID-19. The last game the Bears played was at Kennesaw State on March 8, 2020.
Brown will open the season with 11 straight road games, 10 of which will come as part of three southern trips in February and March. The team will head to Memphis for a three-game set against the Tigers from Feb. 25-27, then return down south the following weekend for a three-game series at USF. From March 11-13, Brown will face Gardner-Webb in a four-game series. The Bears will play their first games in the Northeast the following weekend with a neutral site matchup against Holy Cross on the campus of Northeastern University on Saturday, March 19.
The home opener is scheduled for Sunday, March 20 as part of a split doubleheader against Holy Cross at 11:30 a.m., followed by a game against Northeastern at 3 p.m. Brown will play at Dartmouth to open up Ivy League play in a three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 26 and a single game on Sunday the 27th.
Throughout April and the first weekend of May, Brown will host Bryant (3/29) and Holy Cross (4/6) in non-conference clashes, as well as three Ivy League series against Columbia, Princeton and Cornell. Brown will face URI on the road (4/12), as well as travel to Harvard, Yale and Penn.
Following the regular season, the top two teams from the league's regular season standings will face off in the Ivy League Championship Series, a best-of-three series to determine the league's automatic qualifier for the NCAA Baseball Championship Tournament.
