Men's Lacrosse Releases 2022 Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears men's lacrosse program is set with a 14-game schedule in 2022 that features nine home games and five road games along with a six-game Ivy League conference schedule.
Among the eight non-conference games, Brown takes on three teams that won at least a share of their respective conference title and reached the NCAA Tournament, headlined by North Carolina, who reached the NCAA Final Four in 2021.
Brown opens the 2022 campaign at home against Quinnipiac on Saturday, February 19. The Bears and Bobcats have met 12 times in the series with Brown holding a 12-2 record. Brown took an 11-7 victory in the 2020 season-opener over Quinnipiac at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Brown heads to Chapel Hill to take on the Tar Heels of North Carolina on Wednesday, February 23. It marks the fourth meeting between the Bears and Tar Heels in series history and the first since 2013. UNC holds a 3-0 record against Brown.
On Saturday, February 26, Brown hosts Vermont, the reigning America East Champions, at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The Catamounts reached the last three AE Championship games (2018, 2019, 2021), finally breaking through last spring for the conference title and NCAA Tournament berth.
Next on the slate is Villanova, a team that finished 2021 with a 7-5 record. The Bears and Wildcats will meet on Tuesday, March 1 in Providence. Brown and Villanova met in each of the last four seasons with both teams taking two wins.
On Saturday, March 5, Brown travels across town to take on the Providence College Friars, a team that finished with a 4-7 record in 2021. Brown and Providence have met 25 times in series history with the Bears holding a 23-2 record. However, the Friars have won two of the last three meetings, including the most recent in 2020. Both of PC's wins have come in overtime.
Brown hosts its second America East school of the campaign in Stony Brook on Saturday, March 12. The Seawolves finished the 2021 campaign with an 8-6 overall record, falling to Vermont in the America East semifinals. Brown owns a 2-3 record in the series against Stony Brook and the Seawolves have won the last two meetings (2019, 2020).
Brown begins Ivy League conference play at Harvard on Saturday, March 19. The Crimson held a 2-2 record in 2020 before the shutdown with wins over UMass and Fairfield and losses to Holy Cross and UAlbany.
The Bears host the Minutemen of UMass on Saturday, March 26 at Stevenson-Pincince, renewing the oldest non-Ivy rivalry in program history. Brown and UMass first met in 1963 and have squared off 52 times in series history with the Bears holding a 28-24 record.
The Bears host the Tigers of Princeton on Saturday, April 2 to continue conference play. The Tigers were 5-0 in 2020 before the shutdown with wins over Monmouth, Colgate, Virginia, Johns Hopkins, and Rutgers.
Brown heads to Philadelphia to take on the Penn Quakers on Saturday, April 9 in conference play. Penn was 2-3 in 2020 before the shutdown with wins over Duke and St. Joseph's and one- or two-goal losses to three nationally-ranked teams: Maryland, Penn State, and Villanova.
The Yale Bulldogs head to Providence on Saturday, April 16 in conference play. The Bulldogs were 3-1 in 2020 before the shutdown with wins over Villanova, Penn State, and Michigan and a lone loss to UMass.
On Saturday, April 23, Brown heads to Cornell for its final road game of the season. The Big Red held a perfect 5-0 record in 2020 before the shutdown with victories over UAlbany, Towson, High Point, Ohio State, and Penn State.
On Tuesday, April 26, Brown closes the non-conference slate under the lights at Stevenson-Pincince against the Bulldogs of Bryant. The 2021 NEC Champions, Bryant finished with a 9-4 record, falling to Virginia in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
