Hurd Honored as ECAC Rookie of the Month

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Thanks to a strong start to her collegiate career, Brown freshman forward Anna Hurd has been recognized by the ECAC as the conference's Rookie of the Month for October, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Pelham, N.Y. native immediately emerged as a force for the Bears, scoring a team-leading five points on three goals and two assists to start her collegiate career, including at least one point in all four of Brown's games to start the season. She scored both of Brown's goals in a season-opening 2-2 tie against Penn State on October 23 before adding an assist in Brown's second game against the Nittany Lions. She later scored Brown's first goal against Quinnipiac on Oct. 29 and picked up an assist on Brown's goal late in regulation against Princeton.
She has been a key piece to Brown's special teams, with two of her three goals coming on the power play.
Hurd and the Bears will continue ECAC play this weekend with two matchups at No. 4 Colgate on Friday and (receiving votes) Cornell on Saturday. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
