Volleyball closes regular season at Harvard and Dartmouth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown volleyball will finish the regular season on the road with games at Harvard and Princeton. The Bears will take on the Crimson on Friday (Nov. 12) at 7 p.m. and close the season at Dartmouth on Saturday (Nov. 13) at 5 p.m.
Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

- The Bears are 11-1 in the Ivy League and have clinched the Ivy League title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. It is the first Ivy League title for the Bears since 2001 and the first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1998.
- Brown has now tied the school record for the most wins in Ivy League play (11). A win over Harvard or Dartmouth would set the school record.
- Brown's 18 wins are the most in a season since winning 23 back in 1998. The Bears need just one more win to lock up the fewest losses in a regular season. Brown finished with six losses in its first season of play back in 1997 (5-6).
- The Bears have won four-straight matches by a score of 3-0. It is the first time Brown has won four-straight matches in straight sets since a streak of seven back in 1998.
- Beau Vanderlaan was named Rookie of the Week after helping Brown to sweeps over Princeton and Penn. Vanderlaan is now hitting .386 on the season to lead the Ivy League during her freshman season.
- Sophia Miller is fifth in the Ivy League with 3.32 kills per set. Kate Sheire is sixth in the league with 3.25 kills per set.
- Cierra Jenkins sits in second in the Ivy League with 10.42 assists per set.
- Victoria Vo is second in the league with 4.79 digs per set.
- Harvard is 10-11 on the season and 7-5 during Ivy League play. The Crimson have not lost on a Friday during Ivy League play and are coming off of a 3-0 loss at Cornell on Saturday (Nov. 6).
- Ariana White is fourth in the Ivy League with 1.06 blocks per set and Harvard is third in the league as a team with 2.13 blocks per set.
- The Crimson are fifth in the league with a .207 hitting percentage and are allowing the second-highest opponent hitting percentage in the league at .219
- Brown won the first meeting against Harvard, 3-1. The Bears lost the first set but won the next three 25-21, 25-14, 25-19. Sophia Miller had 20 kills to lead Brown. Katie Vorhies had 13 kills to lead Harvard.
- Dartmouth enters the weekend with a 14-7 record and a 6-6 mark in Ivy League play.
- The Big Green have won its last four matches and will hots Yale before playing Brown.
- Dartmouth is in the middle of the pack statistically except for digs and blocks. The Big Green are tops in the league in digs per set (17.85) and last in blocks per set (1.63).
- Emma Engstrom leads the Ivy League with 4.86 digs per set.
- Brown swept Dartmouth in the first meeting. Brown hit .225 as a team and held Dartmouth to .059 hitting.
