Field Hockey Hits the Road for Non-Conference Game at Holy Cross Tuesday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown renews its rivalry with Holy Cross on the road Tuesday night at Hart Turf Field & Track in Worcester, Massachusetts. Tuesday's game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.

Brown is looking for its second straight win to move back to .500 on the season while Holy Cross looks to move back to .500 after dropping its most recent contest.

SCOUTING BROWN (4-5, 1-1 Ivy)

Brown enters Tuesday's non-conference match at Holy Cross with a 4-5 overall record and 1-1 Ivy League mark. Brown claimed a 3-0 win over Dartmouth on Saturday (Oct. 2) at Goldberger Family Field.
Danielle van Rootselaar leads the Bears with six goals and 15 points. She also leads the team with 66 shots, 38 of which have been on goal.
Junior Lindsey Ross leads the team with four assists.
Junior goalkeeper Calista Manuzza recorded her first career shutout in the win against Dartmouth. She holds a 0.50 goals against average and .923 save percentage in 119 minutes played in 2021.
As a team, Brown is tied for 12th in the country with a .786 save percentage. The Bears are tied for 11th nationally with 7.62 penalty corners per contest.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS (4-5, 0-3 Patriot)

Holy Cross enters Tuesday's game with a 4-5 overall record and 0-3 mark in Patriot League play. The Crusaders most recently fell 5-0 against Lehigh in conference play.
Four Crusaders are tied for the team-lead with three goals apiece while junior Sinead Walsh leads the team with 10 points.
The Crusaders average 2.00 goals per game to rank 35th in the NCAA. The team save percentage of .706 ranks 46th nationally.
Emma Lauber and Brooke Ross have split time in goal to this point of the season. Ross leads the team with a 2.70 goals against average while Lauber leads the pair with a .723 save percentage.

Tuesday night's game marks the 36th meeting between Brown and Holy Cross in a series dating back to 1985. The Bears and Crusaders met annually from 1985 to 2019.
Brown holds a 24-11 all-time record in the series and have won the last two meetings. Brown won a series-best nine straight games from 2008-16. The Bears have a 10-6 record in road games.
Van Rootselaar scored the lone goal in Brown's 2019 win over Holy Cross.
