Field Hockey Heads to Ithaca for Ivy League Matchup Against Cornell

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown returns to Ivy League conference play with a road game at Cornell this Saturday (Oct. 23).
Saturday's game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. in Ithaca, New York and will stream on ESPN+.

- Brown enters the first of three final conference games with a 6-8 overall record and 2-2 conference mark.
- The Bears are logjammed in third place in the Ivy League with the same record as Cornell, Penn, and Yale. These four schools are chasing Princeton (5-0) and Harvard (3-0) with Dartmouth (0-3) and Columbia (0-4) at the bottom looking up.
- Senior Danielle van Rootselaar leads or is tied for the lead in every offensive category for the Bears: goals (10), assists (4), points (24), shots (103), shots on goal (60), game-winning goals (2).
- Van Rootselaar is third in the Ivy League and 16th in the country with 1.83 points per game. She is third in the conference and tied for 17th with 0.75 goals per game.
- Brown's defense ranks second in the conference and seventh in the country with a combined .814 save percentage. Brown is second in the conference to Harvard, allowing just 1.29 goals per game.
- Junior goalkeeper Jodie Brine has started 12 games for the Bears. Brine is second in the Ivy League and 16th nationally with a .746 save percentage. She ranks third in the conference and 17th in the country with a 1.28 goals against average.
- Cornell enters the weekend with a 7-6 overall record and 2-2 mark in conference play. The Big Red opened conference play with wins over Dartmouth (3-1) and Columbia (5-0) before falling to Penn (2-1) and Princeton (3-2).
- Junior Caroline Ramsey leads Cornell with 15 goals in 13 games this season. She also leads the team with 33 points. Ramsey is second in the conference and fourth in the country with 1.18 goals per game. She is second in the conference and sixth in the country with 2.64 points per game.
- Junior Bridget Mahoney leads the Big Red with 14 assists and leads the NCAA with 1.09 assists per game. Senior Kate MacGillis is second on the team with nine assists and ranks fourth in the country with 0.78 assists per game.
- Junior Aerin Park has started 12 of 13 games in goal for Cornell. She holds a 1.17 goals against average and .750 save percentage. Park's goals against average ranks second in the conference and 14th in the country.
- Cornell's offense ranks fourth in the conference and 24th in the country with a 2.25 goals per game scoring average.
- Saturday's game marks the 42nd meeting between the Bears and Big Red in a series dating back to 1979.
- Cornell holds a 22-17-2 all-time record in the series. Brown beat Cornell in 2018 before the Big Red won the most recent meeting in 2019.
