Favorite experience as a Brown student-athlete?
Fresh memory: Beating the defending national champions Virginia in, what I didn't know would be, my final game in my final season here at Brown. Despite that amazing win, I can't bear knowing that I could still be out of the field practicing with those amazing 48 other guys.
Â
It was just another cherry on top of the cake that Lars Tiffany, UVA's current coach, recruited me to Brown while he coached here. He's a Brown alum and so is UVA's past legendary coach, Dom Starsia. So much history in this program.
Â
We were fortunate enough to have countless alumni spanning from the teams in the 60s to those of the 70s and 80s and so on and so forth to the most recent alums cheering us on to victory and that was really something special. That we were able to pay tribute to the work and dedication those alums have put into this program over many years on and off the field was an honor I will carry with me forever, especially as I transition to becoming one of those men cheering in the stands. The history, the people, and the culture are just a few of many things that I feel unbelievably humbled to have been a part of.
Â
Favorite class at Brown?
My favorite class was called Literature in a Digital Age. I double concentrated in Business-Economics and English and this class was my English capstone. We explored the bounds of literature i.e. what does it mean to be a piece of literature in a world in which literature's traditional form is dying. Can movie script-writing be literature? And if so, can movies? But then what about video games? And art? Professor Egan really pushed us to explore the background of our own individual open curriculum paths and explore not only literature but also history, sociology, economics, computer science, and countless others.
