Hanover, N.H. -Â Â Brown had big performances from its two seniors, Zach Hunsaker (North Salt Lake City, UT) and Brandon Anderson (Mahwah, NJ), who combined for 51 points to lead the Bears to a 70-58 win over Dartmouth Saturday evening at Leede Arena.
Â
The Bears posted their second straight winning season, finishing 15-12 overall and 8-6 in the Ivy League, tied with Penn for fourth place in the conference standings. Dartmouth falls to 12-17 overall, 5-9 in league play.
Â
But it turned out to be a bittersweet evening for the Bears. Due to tie breakers with Penn, Brown was eliminated from Ivy League playoff contention by halftime when the Quakers completed a 85-65 win over Columbia in a game that started an hour earlier.
Â
Brown's 35 wins over the last two years are a school record. The Bears also completed a weekend sweep of Dartmouth and Harvard on the road for the first time since 2008.Â
Â
"Tonight was a terrific win on the road against a very tough opponent," said Brown head coach Mike Martin. "I'm really proud of our team.  Our two senior guards were outstanding once again and everyone on our roster contributed to this win."
Â
Hunsaker tossed in 14 of his career high 27 points in the second half and connected on 11-of-11 free throws, while hitting 4-of-9 treys.
Â
Anderson scored 16 of his 24 points in the first half and knocked down a career high five treys (5-of-10). He now has 1,405 career points, fifth best in Brown history.
Â
Junior Tamenang Choh (Lowell, MA) chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds, while sophomore Jaylan Gainey (Greensboro, NC) pulled down a game high eight rebounds.
Â
Brown's tenacious defense forced 17 Big Green turnovers with 11 steals, led by Anderson's career high five steals.Â
Â
Dartmouth was paced by Chris Knight, who scored 20 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the field. Ian Sistare also scored in double figures for the Big Green with 11 points.
Â
Both teams exchanged leads in the opening half, Brown took control with the score tied, 26-26. The Bears outscored the Big Green, 12-2 with four straight 3-point baskets, two each by Hunsaker and Anderson, to pull ahead, 38-28, with 1:57 remaining.  A late Dartmouth surge on two baskets by Trevor Ary-Turner cut Brown's lead to 38-32 at the half. Â
Â
Brown built an 11 point second half lead, 54-43, with 6:41 left following two straight baskets by Choh and a three-point play by freshman Dan Friday (Detroit, MI).
Â
Dartmouth cut the Bears' lead to six points, 54-48, but Hunsaker responded with consecutive treys to extend Brown's lead to 12 points, 60-48, with 3:37 remaining to put the game out of reach.
