Throughout the month of March, Brown Athletics will celebrate Women's History Month through a series of profiles. Over the course of the month, the Bears will recognize women who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.
Tori Barbata '03, Women's Water Polo
Tori Barbata '03 played a key role on the success of Brown women's water polo in its early years as a varsity program. Joining the team in its second season as a varsity team (2000), Barbata helped the Bears win the 2001 CWPA Championship and make an appearance in the 2001 NCAA Championships. A 2003 ACWPC Honorable Mention All-America selection, Barbata earned All-Conference honors three times and All-East accolades twice. She gained First Team All-Conference in 2000 and Second Team All-Conference in 2001 and 2002, while collecting First Team All-East in 2003 and Second Team All-East in 2001. Barbata aided Brown to a 72-49 record during her four years with the Bears from 2000-03, including a 22-12 record in 2001 as the Bears won the CWPA title, a 20-14 mark in 2002, and an 18-9 record in 2003 as Brown placed second at the CWPA tournament.
