PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Will Tomlinson (Irvine, Calif.) of the Brown baseball team has been named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
Tomlinson put together a standout performance as the starter in the team's win over La Salle on Sunday. The right-hander went seven strong innings in a no decision, leaving the game with the Bears on top, as he allowed just one run and two hits with seven strikeouts.
La Salle scored one run in the first inning with a solo homer, but Tomlinson settled in over the next six frames, including a stretch of 12-straight outs as he held the Explorers to a .087 batting average. Brown went on to defeat La Salle in extra innings, 4-3.
Tomlinson is the first member of the Brown team to earn weekly honors this season.
Brown will visit Kennesaw State for a four-game series next weekend.
