Gymnastics’ Petrillo Earns ECAC Specialist of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University gymnastics sophomore Sophia Petrillo has earned ECAC Specialist of the Week honors after scoring a career high on bars on Sunday, the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced on Friday.

A native of Stoneham, Mass., Petrillo tallied a personal-best 9.800 to claim third place on bars in the Bears' home tri meet against with Bowling Green State University and Rhode Island College on Sunday afternoon in their home finale at the Pizzitola Sports Center.

As a team, Brown scored a season-high 193.500 at the meet behind season bests on vault (48.550) and floor (48.575).
